Swan Song is a 2021 American science fiction romantic drama film written and directed by Benjamin Cleary and produced by Mahershala Ali, Rebecca Bourke and Jonathan King. The film stars Ali, Naomie HarrisAwkwafinaGlenn Close, and Adam Beach.

Swan Song was released in select cinemas and on Apple TV+ on December 17, 2021.

When a loving husband and father Cameron Turner is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he is presented with the option of sparing his family grief by having him replaced with a clone. Turner is torn about whether to discuss the option with his wife.

This movie leaves a lot to the imagination, but what it does give you is more than enough to realize that this is a beautiful story with amazing actors. Awkwafina is hilarious as always. Naomie Harris is breathtaking in her role. Mahershala Ali’s performance as both Cameron and his clone Jack is simply one of the best performances in a science fiction romance, I’ve ever seen in my life. He even makes you forget that his choice to not inform his wife and son that he has a terminal illness and decided to clone himself is a moral and ethical dilemma in itself. You can see how conflicted he is by this choice, but by the end of the movie you realize why he did what he did. It showed that his love for his wife was quite literally everlasting.

Swan Song is a must see film and I highly recommend it if you’re a fan of science fiction, romance, and most of all Mahershala Ali.

I give this movie at 10/10 (5 out of 5 stars). Well Alright!
